Happy 4th of July!!!
Happy 4th of July, everyone! Independence Day wasn’t always an official holiday. That happened in 1870 when Congress declared Independence Day as an unpaid holiday for federal employees. Then, in 1938, Congress changed it to a paid federal holiday.Today, most U.S. citizens have Independence Day off – paid, of course — to celebrate with barbecues, picnics, parades, special events and concerts. Throughout the nation, the day ends with spectacular fireworks displays that take place around 10 o’clock at night.
Independence Day is also a day when most U.S. citizens feel patriotic, hanging U.S. flags in front of their homes, wearing clothing with pictures of the U.S. flag or carrying around small replicas of it. It’s a day when most can forget about all the problems the country is having and just feel proud to live in a nation that offers its citizens an abundance of freedom and opportunity.
Remember, Galaxy Fireworks is open here all-year around. Enjoy and have a very safe Independence Day!
